You are doing Faithful Annie a grave disservice. She was the RAF's first
aircraft with a retractable u/c (hand-wound, 300? turns). Designed as a
coastal maritime patrol aircraft, armed with bombs and 2 .303s, one for
the pilot and one in a dorsal turret. At least one wartime squadron
added beam and floor guns, and I have seen reports of a 20mm cannon, but
that could be a myth. At least one Anson shot down a 109.

My second flight (just after my first, in a Chipmunk) was in an Anson.
1961 or thereabouts.
