2010 Performance Soaring Seminar: UPDATE
Everything is proceeding according to plan. The long-range forecast
looks like the weather will be decent: good enough for a seminar, not
good enough to go soaring!
Everyone attending should have received an Evite and RSVP’d. If not,
email me at
. Attendance is at
capacity.
FAAST credit for attendance has been approved (thank you, Elliot).
See: http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event...aspx?eid=30363
We will start at 9:00 SHARP at the National Center for Atmospheric
Research (NCAR), located at 1850 Table Mesa Dr., Boulder, Colorado.
This is at the west end of the road. Google, if need be, but Table
Mesa Dr. literally ends in the parking lot.
Reminder: there is no food available, so brown bag it. There is a
deli at the King Soopers store at the SW corner of Table Mesa and
Broadway.
After the seminar, there are eating and drinking establishments in
Table Mesa Shopping Center at the foot of the mesa.
Here is the tentative schedule:
9:00-9:45 Aland Adams: Tuning for Performance
9:45-10:30 Alfonso Ossorio: Mountain Flying and Safety Considerations
10:30-10:45 Break
10:45-11:15 Bob Faris: Badge and Record Update
11:15-12:00 Ralph “Woody” Woodward: The EB 28 in Namibia, Africa

1:15-2:30 John Seaborn: Maximizing Your Climb
2:30-2:45 Break
2:45-3:30 Dave Leonard: Running: Speed-to-Fly
3:30-4:00 Time to account for poor planning on my part (we will
probably be behind schedule by now) and break

The event will be webcast in two sessions: A) morning and B)
afternoon.
