I've just browsed P-Strepla's features, and it seems to me that this
software cannot download files from flight recorders (like Volkslogger).
It only uses Volkslogger as a source of GPS signal and barometric altitudes.

So P-Strepla is perfectly correct saying it has found and connected to
Volkslogger. But it has nothing in common with IGC-sanctioned flight
recording.

SeeYou Mobile cannot download files as well. There's a companion
application called ConnectMe (freeware) which does it.

Usually there's no need to download logger's files to PDA, as they are
to be analysed on PC anyway. You can connect Volkslogger to PC directly
to make the download.

Well, for a lot of us it's easier to download the logger igc file to
the PDA.
Laptops are impossible to use outside because the bright daylight
washes
out the screen. Personally I use SoarPilot on a Palm Tungsten T,
which
is very usable outdoors. It also downloads the log files from a
variety of
loggers onto an SD card. After flying I usually do that while I'm
wiping the
bugs off the wings. At US contests where you only have an hour to
deliver
your log file to the scorer (unless you land out, of course) the
delivery of
the igc file usually comes before pulling the wings.

Of course with the VL you can just take that with you and download it
directly to the scorer's computer. However, for people with
permanently
mounted loggers like the Cambridge 301 or LX flight computers you have
to download in the cockpit. I believe ConnectMe is provided free and
runs
on all the WinMobile platforms.
