What the truck?

Seriously, though, what is it and why is it in that museum?

I suspected that your first question was simply a play on words, and
did not respond at the time. The exhibit is an aircraft starter truck
as described in the following link:

http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/fac...eet.asp?id=985

As to why the truck is at the museum, I would surmise that it is
aircraft related and was thus deemed to be an appropriate addition to
the collection.

Now go and get me a shrubbery ;-)

Cheers,

Indrek Aavisto

Thanks for the answer. I didn't look at the original photo carefully
enough to see the drive mechanism above the cab. Knowing it's a starter
truck explains why it's there. There is an original 1920 Hucks starter
at the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, and it is in regular use.
I have a photo somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment. I might
take another one if I go to the display next Sunday.
