Snip...

The Cherokee and I had a good flight, making a
distance of 167 miles to a nice wheat field in southern Nebraska.

Snip...

It was a struggle just to stay aloft for most of the flight while I
flew mainly between 1500 and 2500 AGL but occasinoally as low as
800-1000 AGL and as high as 4000 AGL. I didn't feel like I was making
great speed but the average came out to 37 mph which I feel was pretty
good for the conditions. There was one time where I got to 4000 AGL
where i was so brave as to push the speed up to a whopping 60 mph
until I had lost 1000 feet.

Studly!!! I don't see how you manage to have so much fun flying XC in a
ship incapable of it!

Chortle,
Bob W.

Jeeez Bob! The Cherokee is just as capable of XC flying as a 1-26 !!!

Hee!!! Would it have helped my 'directional' humor to've noted I used to
fly a 1-26 cross-country? (Tony knew that, BTW!)

Bob - loves PW-5's too - W.

P.S. All soaring is good...more so when performed in Drag Kings!
