Just want to hook up with people with a love of
heavy bombers or a dislike of the Bones...as I have. or try to convince

me
that the B-1 is a great aircraft.

It seems the aircrews love the B-1 and the maintainers hate it. I

worked B-1's
at Dyess in the early '90's as an E/E troop. We must have just missed

each
other as I left Texas in '94.

It's too bad the Bone didn't have a good (as if any bailout situation is
good) non-ejection seat bailout capability. I took several maintainers

for
flights on the Buff at Mather and, of course, they loved it. Not possible
in the Bone, but I assure you, you would have had a great time.

Most of the crew chiefs I met, Buff or Bone, loved working on their jet.
They all agreed it was harder on the Bone (those that had done both),
especially early on, but in my second tour I sat in many a morning MX

brief
(I was the 28BS/DO for awhile) and the situation had improved a lot over

the
decade. I understand now that there's a lot more parts available and it's
improved even more.

Yes, Baker, the bone finally works.

For maintainers, the Bone was a miserable pig, for nearly two decades.
