There's not much hope of recovery, the infection has caused brain
death, it's been in a persistent vegetative state. The bad guys won.

Depends on how you choose to look at it. To me anyway, when the "good
guys" leave and there's nothing left on the group but the "bad guys",
have the "bad guys" REALLY won anything? :-)
