Position recorders can already be used for Silver and Gold badges, as
approved by ones NAC. *The SSA, to my knowledge, has yet to formally
approve any position recorders. *GPS altitude is not currently
acceptable as evidence, if the a position recorder is capable of being
approved as an electronic pressure recording barograph, then it may be
used on its own. *Otherwise, a separate barograph must be carried, and
that data also provided. *There is a proposal in front of the upcoming
IGC plenary session to allow use of GPS altitude, if approved (it's in
year 2 stage), I believe it could go into effect as soon as the next
Sporting Code update in October...

The SSA has approved the FlywithCE position recorder for silver and
gold badges. You still have to have a barograph for altitude though.
