Good question! What model did you end up buying, and how much did
it cost? I'd love to get rid of the boom mic!
I like the idea, but I'm curious about making things work with a
self-launcher.

I think this is not an option for motor gliders, gliders that have a lot of potential electrical noise, and ones that have a noisy cockpit in general.
