Working on gold distance, does this sound about right?

He can fly 500m cylinders, it will just cause 1km leg reduction per each

I see no reason to keep Colibri away from pilot's hands. OO has to
confirm that the logger was flying with this pilot. He can check,
observe, seal, glue, whatever. But during the flight one can use his
Colibri freely. The only risk is a loss of log.
The best advice is: inform your OO before the flight (even via phone)
and ask what he wants you to do.

How do you seal the flight recorder with tape? Is there some special
tape used?
