I just did the exact same thing a few weeks ago. I am using PP2000 version
1.3 which I don't think does y-Enc. It is working fine. I can only suggest
to double check the NNTP news server address & the log-on in the program
settings.

I also sometimes use Xnews. It does just about everything, for free.

Thanks Dale. As it turns out I had mistyped the the newsgroup name. I just
noticed that I even mistyped it in my earlier message body! LOL Must be
getting old.
