Fully agree Tom, the multitude of classes are confusing to outsiders, and costly to competitiors / countries.
FAI member nations should start instructing their representatives on what pilots want. I know there are various issues at stake, but the demise of the world class, which we all know was a commercial venture, was an ideal opportunity to cut classes. Instead, IGC creates two more to replace it - go figure
