It appears that both the shield (ground) and center conductors must be wired to different pins on connector J1/P1 depending on a standard or dynamic microphone.

Standard Microphone

Pin 14 - Shield
Pin 18 - Center conductor

Dynamic Microphone

Pin 6 - Shield
Pin 5 - Center conductor
