The SAAF's Buccaneers had something similar, I understand it could be
carried on a pylon to provide the aircraft with remote start capability

There appears to be a bomb on wheels dedicated to Sir Frank Whittle beside
the aircraft. What's that all about?

The Gnat is a tidy looking aircraft. I wonder why it did not catch on to
nay great extent.

I was looking at that myself. I guess if it were a bomb, it would have
'Barnes Wallace' on the side.



It's got an upward-facing exhaust on the blunt end and square, air intakes
on the sides. It looks like an APU or some kind of start-cart for away
games.
