Default Great Soaring Video

Those are "protectors", made from plastic water bottles wrapped with duct
tape. The intent is to keep the splices and rings from dragging on the
ground and wearing out. They work great but, if the tug lands within 200 ft
of the threshold of the runway, the protector sometimes catches on the edge
of the pavement and gets pulled off. We keep several weak links made up
with protectors installed.

A great video.

It looks like you use something covered in duct tape to avoid knots in the
tow rope. We are always looking for a better way and to find something
durable and would be curious what you use.
