New link for Cloudstreet video
Most of the glider-to-glider footage was done using a Sony CX-760 HD camera.. It is small, has excellent color rendition and most importantly, has gyro stabilization which greatly enhanced the video quality by eliminating much of the jumpiness associated with many other cameras. Note that this is true gyro stabilization- not software driven. You can actually see the lens move inside the camera body as your coffee and adrenaline induced shakes are damped out. Not to mention the bouncy effect of turbulence.
Moriarty Airport (0E0) in New Mexico is the field where we (Mike Abernathy, Billy Hill and myself) are based. It is home to the Albuquerque Soaring Club, although the ASC had no direct involvement in the production. Billy and I are members, Mike is not.
Other sites in the video are the Grand Tetons (flying from Driggs, ID), Salida, CO and Telluride, CO
