This post may save someone some trouble: There's a K7 listed on Barnstormers as needing a canopy and fabric repair. This ship will need far more than fabric and canopy. This glider went through a fence. Both wings have cuts through the leading and trailing edges from fence posts. Possible damage to tubes and welds where the wings attach (paint popped off and tubing rusting where the tubes cluster and the wing attach). Horizontal was cut as well.. Canopy completely demolished. Wreck has been sitting out in the rain for some time with water in the wings. The spoilers will not open due to damage to the linkages and swelling of the wood structure.
Oh, cut him a little slack. He is in South Dakota, the plane is in Georgia, and he posted the ad the same day he was notified he had been awarded the salvage. He is just trying to turn some quick bucks. And, how could anyone pass up the "cool proj"? I put in a bid on it trying to buy it for my own project. I e-mailed him through Barnstormers asking legit questions, and have not heard back form him.
Anything for a buck, I guess. Including false advertizing.
Sigh.
