I wonder if it would be possible to use a single blade prop (yes, they exist, look it up) and have it stored in a recess under the nose when stopped, to minimize drag.

That would be a bit more complicated (for the door to cover the prop) but would probably make the FES more acceptable to hard-core racers.

FESBPS, anyone?
