The next morning a farmer who absolutely knows what a dust devil is as well as why and how they form was amazed to see one trash his storage building - at 5AM!
Say what? 5AM? Hmmm. Something has gone wacky with the Utah weather.
Not sure I would like to fly there now, Bruno.
I suspect the surface was still fairly warm when at 5AM, cold air aloft coming from over the eastern mountains set up a steep lapse rate in the Utah Valley. The east wind woke me and when I looked out my window I could see pre-dawn active cumuilus. Springtime in the Rockies!
Nephi seems to be shaping up as the Omarama/Bitterwasser of North America. This is a place to be experienced.
