So basically there is no reason to ban them from competition. As myself and others have pointed out, a smart phone or tablet also is capable of acting as a Horizon with free apps available.

With normal Airpath compass procedure inside cloud is to straighten to any direction, wait 15-30 sec to get compass reading, then calculate how many seconds to make 30sec (or 1 min) standard rate turn to correct heading. This takes easily couple of minutes in all. These days any modern GPS gives you track reading at 1 hZ, which makes Bohli compass totally obsolete.
