While the accident clearly damaged the glider, the extraction of the pilot
by rescue crews could have easily resulted in the complete disassembly of the forward fuselage around him.
I.M.H.O.,compared to a typical auto extrication a sailplane would be akin to peeling a hard boiled egg.
