It looks mostly as an A-6 Texan/Harvard, and I have never heard of the
A-6 family having a Mosquito, is that special for the T-6D andd what
is the change in designation for?

During the Korean War and, the Vietnam War, T-6s were pressed into
service as forward air control aircraft. These aircraft were designated T-6
"Mosquitos". armed with smoke & phosphor rockets to mark targets
