Based on this.....

The link from SoF is just a bulk pack of D cells, not a "battery pack". So, to gets amps from 1.5VDC, you wire in parallel, lots of cells can be a lot of amps, but at 1.5VDC.
To get meaningful volts, you wire in series, lots of volts, but at about 3 amps.
To do FES, you need multiple groups. Each group in series to get the volts needed, lots of those to get the amps and runtime.
Sounds like thousands of dollars, lots of weight (alkaline has a low power density vs. weight compared to Lion or LiPo).
Just saying......at SoF............I know HN understands this.
