Cell phone is obviously out, don't want to talk on the out while flying and they don't work much above pattern altitude anyway.

Willing to land in order to call back, just need a notification.

Old fashioned pager?
Any other means?

Text messaging works well in some of the areas I fly, even when phone calls don't.
I've sent text and pictures to my crew from 10,000' while flying near Mt Rainier,
remote places in NV, and over the farm country of Eastern Washington state.
