Back in the day Byker, I jumped from many of these C-47s.
Fort Campbell...Fort Bragg...Nellis AFB...
Back then we were paid $125.00 a month more (jump pay) than the 'legs',
which equated to a lot of beer money.
Don't know about these days, but back then we had to make one jump every
three months to keep this extra pay.
Lots of us gave that up...but wearing the Airborne insignia was a mark
of distinction back then. It still is today.
