Depends on the time of day. If Detroit is having a "push", you probably
ain't a gonna get it. Detroit Class B is reasonably GA friendly, but
heavy traffic flow will get their first priority.

A better route to plan on (at that altitude) is to file to ANNTS
intersection (just North of Toledo)direct PSI VOR (a 360 degree heading
which will keep you out of the Class B) direct PTK. Detroit will bring
you up on that course until just North of YIP (Willow Run) and then give
you vectors for the airport or the approach, depending on the weather.

I am planning a trip to PTK (Oakland County) which is about 25 miles north
of Detroit. I will be coming from the south. The route is V493 to CRL and
then direct to the PSI VOR. Planned altitude is 6000'. This will take me
almost directly overhead the DTW airport. What are the chances of really
getting that routing? Anyone with experience in that airspace? This trip
will be on a Saturday, if that makes any difference. Thanks!
