So it's not necessarily PILOTing proficiency.

Now if the pilot had Superman's vision and Einstein's brain, his
'walk-around' would allow his eye's to see inside all of the craft, and his
brain would allow him to understand all he saw.

It's the pilot's responsibility to determine if the aircraft is
actually airworthy.
