Default Stowing water?

I fly with two 70 oz CamelBaks stuffed behind the headrest on the "luggage shelf."

That's about 9 pounds of water...behind your head. I suspect the biggest difference between getting hit by 9 lbs. of water in a crash and 9 lbs. of lead is that the water will only break your neck while the lead will crush your skull and break your neck.

I assume the headrest is fixed and would help prevent a direct hit but I stow mine of about the same size in a compartment on the left side of the cockpit behind a fixed panel.
