If you feel comfortable taking the shot and are willing to take the
responsiblity and consequences (good or bad) that come from it then
good on you. Maybe you'll get a medal and maybe your action will
start a much larger conflagration. Or screw up some other operation.
There are WAY too many possiblities to even consider.

If it's "simplistic" to just follow orders it's equally simplistic to
search for "intent" when an order is clear. And to disregard them is
cometimes called "mutiny."
