From my experience selling both Garmin and Lowrance, Garmin has the upper hand bar none. While the 2000C has a nice screen size, the resolution is not quite up to par. The other issue that I have with Lowrance right now, other than the customer service, is the fact that they are not sure which direction they are moving in. Popular units have been discontinued and it appears as if the aviation development staff is no longer around. My .02
