Although this particular ng. has gone to drooling dogs years ago, I'd
still want to inform those who were active here few years ago, and still
care to follow this newsgroup:

Finnish Air Force Commander, Major General Jarmo "Charles" Lindberg, who
was the commanding officer of the Finnish Air Force crew attending
F/A-18 training at NAS Lemoore in the late -80's and early -90's, and
who was quite active in this newsgroup when it was still not stinking
crap, has been promoted as the youngest Major General in the Finnish
military to the youngest Lieutenant General in the history of the
Finland to be the commander of the Materiel Command of the Finnish
Military.

The reason might be that the only major area he had less experience in
logistics, which General Schwarzkopf as the most important part of the
the operational arts.

Major General Lindberg was the commander of the Finnish Air Force for
only a couple of years, but his rate of promotions has been spectacular.
He is an exceptional commander with exceptional talents, and my guess is
that he has been placed on fast track to become the commander of the
Finnish Military Forces in a rather short time.

It might be surprising to the current droolers in this ng. that just a
few years ago, this newsgroup was *crowded* by real doers, such as Jarmo
and "Mary at NASA" (and many others). I miss the lot...
