The day after AirVenture is usually great for photos of planes in flight from the east
side of the airport, as they leave to go home in the morning hours.

It is always fun to see and hear the U2 takeoff. While it flies and lands very quietly, it makes an
ungodly roaring howl taking off. The pilot asked the controller if he couldn't get higher than 8000
initial, and when the controller told him to wait until he got airborne, he spiralled up to 8000 directly
above the field in remarkably short time.
