Default Special Airworthiness Cert'd-Exp, Exhib&Racing Gldiers

Hello Dennis,
SSA.
EAA.
Warbirds of America,

Please see this below and read.

Regulatory relief is needed by gliders, as is sought
by Warbirds of America/EAA.

We have the same motivation; different aircraft but
same needs.

Consider.

Let SSA and US gliders get on this bandwagon of change,

and not be left out of the proposed benefits of change
of liberalization of current Operating Limitations
of Special Airworthiness Certificate - Experimental,
for Exhibition and Rancing Purposes aircraft.

Be sure gliders are included.

Perhaps such changes devised between EAA Warbirds
of America and FAA all will become part of an NPRM
or maybe just a policy change of FAA, yet we must work
for Glider inclusion. As you know, many of the gliders
in USA are operating under Spec AW Certif, Exp - Exhibition
and Racing, with highly varying and sometimes onerous
and inconsistent Operating Limitations.

None the less, we (glider pilots in the USA operating
under Special Airworthiness Certificates -Experimental,
for Exhibition and Racing purposes),
we too need the benefits to be derived from liberalization
changes now being negotiated by Warbirds of America
EAA for Special Airworthiness Certificated gliders
, for Exhibition and/or Racing Purposes. Many gliders
must operate with such, due to perhaps the European
TCDS's never having been submitted to FAA Belgium for
issuance of US Aircraft Type Certification and TCDS.
My aircraft is such, as an ASW-20C Alexander Schleicher
glider aircraft, with German TCertification, it never
got US TCDS recognition.

Therefore, I must operate with significant Operating
Limitations as part of my Special Airworthiness Certificate
- Experimental - for Racing and Exhibition Purposes.

Many gliders in USA are certificated with Special
Airworthiness Certificate - Experimental, Exhibition
and Racing Purpose, with Operating Limitations
which in some cases are onerous.

Hear. We need to be included by the addition of the
word Glider in such revised language of regulation
or policy regarding Special Airworthiness Certificate
issuance, for Racing and Exhibition Purpose aircraft.

I hope you will forward this info
re Special Airworthiness Certificate - Experimental
- Exhibition and Racing Purposes
to SSA government relations person,
and to make inclusion of Glider w/ Special Airworthiness
Certificate - Experimental, For Exhibition and Racing
Purposes part of FAA's reconsideration.

The effort, thus far, has been lead by EAA Warbirds
of America, who have done remarkable work. Now, we
must join in to be sure Gliders are included in such
proposed improved provisions for less stringent Operating
Limitations.

Help. Give us relief.

Spec Aw Cert Exp, Exh&Racing Gliders in the USA need
it too!

Give us the same at least as proposed by Warbirds of
America in concert with EAA.

We need to be involved in these discussions, and to
be made included in the language of new regs.

Thank you.

Dancing on clouds,

Keep it up!
