The Altair system is not a FADEC, it just has some items in common. (FADEC
controls the complete engine) and also records exceedances. (Altair only
controls the start process) and records exceedances.

It was only in a partnership with Honeywell/Bendix and never was owned

I have never had any dealings with the system but the article says:
