However, I'm now less clear on which version is the "PNA Version". * I
tried the one from the Italian site referred to by Al above, but after
extracting the files to the SD Card and trying to run the PNA
executable, I get an error message that one of the components is
missing. * I tried extracting all files to the root and also maintaining
the original folder names (ie. with XCSoardata) but neither approach
worked.

What was the missing component?

Its difficult to diagnose the problem without that information.

You probably need to know that GRecordDll.dll is normally missing from
PNA alpha and beta releases. IIRC its absence is silently ignored: XCSoar
runs without it but won't create IGC log files. You can get it by
downloading the latest stable version (5.2.2), and dropping its copy of
GRecordDll.dll into the 310 alongside the exes. Or contact me off list
and I'll send you a copy.

Well, there were a number of DLLs that ship with the 5.2.2 PNA version
missing. * Once I loaded the 5.2.2 version onto the SD Card then the
new LX8000alfa, everything seems to be just fine. * I think I had
previously loaded a version designed for the PC by accident...

So far, I've only used it to navigate from the comfort of my easy-
chair. Didn't get lost, so that's a good sign :-)

Seriously, I've been flying with Glide Navigator and Pocket-Nav before
that, which is the minimalist approach to situational awareness and
information presentation. I'll need to fly with XCSoar to form an
opinion. The original goal was to have something we could stick into
a Grob 103 for use in local and regional tasks. It looks like it
will fit the bill, though I do get the sense that task entry isn't a
sweet spot for XCSoar. More shortly...
