What was the model number of the
electric machine gun (mini gun) used
by the early Cobra Heliocopters in
Vietnam. Where can I go to get a
blow up picture of one and a explanation
of how it worked, espeically the
feed system?
Mike

The M197. Details can be found he

The M197 is a 20mm gun that was fitted in later AH-1s. The original Cobras
had a mix of 7.62mm miniguns and 40mm AGLs in the M28A1 chin turret.

The 7.62mm minigun was the M134, usually mounted with an M129 grenade
launcher, though some aircraft had two miniguns instead (and maybe some had
two AGLs?).
