Default US Standard Class -- Day 4

And today the big dogs ate. Two US team pilots beat the field by 5 mph.
A 340 mile racing task was called in the shape of a bowtie with the last point 100 miles from home. Another US Team dog holds on to first place by a half a turn.
We launch at noon taking quick climbs to a rising base at 5500'. Out on course over 8k' would be reach. Today one had to start right away to max the day. First leg with the clouds went quick with the second leg taking pilots out into a mostly blue dead looking sky. The pros made easy work of it.
Turning the third leg SW had most shifting into lower gears as the west half of the task had mid-level broken alto cirrus cumulus sink looking skies. Gloomy.
This is were Huss and Gaisford ran well into the mine field and out again.
Half the fleet had to grind home with a few reaching earth earlier than planned.
German food from a food truck was the menu tonight with a cooler of German beer.
Again no drips, no run, no errors today.
Check out the results on the SSA site.
