Default Will the airline industry make it as currently managed?

$61 Oil and going up Government layers of inefficient outdated
FAA Air Traffic control management not adapting
fast enough plus loss of air safety mission focus

Hub and Spoke concept dying
Merger Merger Merger
Labor cost's out of control
Foreign airline pressure
Security and terror fears

Social engineering/Diversity/EEO/Union contract/Gay and Lesbian/Black
History Month
politically correct social feel good agendas causing labor cost's
to skyrocket and productivity to fall

Scary future for the airline business unless it goes back to a lean
quasi-military type organization
where the best are rewarded and the lazy/sorry/socially engineered slugs
are removed. Also, the entire
FAA needs to be enema purged and all focus redirected to airline
movement efficiency and safety.

Airline Cutting Pretzels to Trim Costs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Passengers who love those little bags of pretzels
given away aboard US Airways flights had better move fast to get some
more because the airline is cutting them from the menu.

Beginning in September, US Airways will pull the pretzels from domestic
flights in a move expected to save more than $1 million a year. The
savings is part of the airline's larger effort to compete with low-fare
airlines, spokeswoman Amy Kudwa said Tuesday.

Last month, Northwest Airlines replaced free pretzels with 3-ounce bags
of trail mix that passengers can buy for $1.

Passengers "are not driven by whether there are pretzels there or no
pretzels there," said David Stempler, president of the Air Travelers
Association.
