Gas. The shells were not marked (the Iraqi Army never marked its chemical
munitions as such), and at least two GIs were treated and released for minor
exposure to Sarin after one of the incidents. Last I heard Sarin and Mustard
were WMDs. Both gases were used against the Kurds in 1988, BTW.
