I completely concur. I'm planning to bring a laptop with me on my trip
across the country in about 3 weeks. I even got a pay-as-you-go backup
dial-up plan.

I always consider computer based weather briefing provides a better
mental picture of the weather than the phone call to FSS anyway.


I wouldn't have recommended this a year ago, but now a wireless
laptop is almost essential for weather planning and looking up
airnav. Pretty much all hotels have or claim to have wireless
internet hotspots.
