I have a VP-3, firmware version 45.1P, installed in my HP-14. My library
contains two different VP-3 manuals. One manual is obviously for a later
model then mine; however, the earlier manual may also be more modern than my
VP-3.

Both manuals have a series performance item which are entered in "Program
8". I have been able to enter everything except the compensation
percentage. In the step where "CS" is expected to appear in the top window
I get what I think is "Vn".

The manual states that acceptable values for "CS" are from 80.0% to 105.6%.
The only value that the "Vn" setting will accept are "00, 01, 02, 10, 11,
12, 20, 21, 22, 30, 31, and 32."

Do these numbers have anything to do with the vario compensation? If not
what do the represent?
