"If it exists"? We aren't talking about Bigfoot sightings - its a met
phenomenon that is occasionally photographed and you can find in
several places on the net.


It does exist.

As for the difficulty of viewing, there are several factors that must be
right all at once for the effect to be seen

1. Sharp horizon - gotta be looking across water.
2. No clouds - they block the sun.
3. No, or very little, haze - it affects the refraction.
