Default Early Pirep on Garmin 430 and 496 Integration

I think there's just the paragraph in the 496 manual under Main Menu/Setup
Tab/Interface Sub Tab: "Aviation In - the proprietary format used for
connection to a Garmin panel-mounted GPS receiver. Allows the GPSMAP 496 to
show a Go To or route selected in the panel-mounted GPS receiver. This
eliminates the need to enter the destination on both units."

Did you get the WAAS upgrade to your 430 and/or 530 yet? In most of the
upgrade cases, the shop will need to replace the antenna cable connecting to
the GPS to conform with the new standard. I had the shop keep my old antenna
and use that for the 496. I notice that almost all the GPS signal bars are
maxed-out at start-up and it initializes its position much quicker with this
configuration so it's a nice little benefit.

I'll post about anything new I find later.

Please do. I'll have this configuration as well, and will be really
interested to see just what the capabilities are.

Is there any Garmin documentation on how the two work together?
