Default "Marfa Report" by Wally Scott

Written in the early seventies about soaring at Marfa - in big wing (open
class) sailplanes. Map enclosed with green/red landable/unlandable areas (for
big wings at least), and known "sink holes" and lift areas. I have copies
available.

I also have DVD copies of "The Sun Ship Game" movie.

Then there's my "Pre-Marfa Projects" file which I can attach as a word.doc to
an e-mail. Tips on preparing yourself, your sailplane, your trailer and your
ground crew for flying at Marfa (such as a good crew car antenna and bringing
your own oxygen refill hose!) This checklist was originally written by the
late Fritz Kahl, the legendary contest manager at Marfa at the contests of the
1960's - '70's.

Finally our "Accommodations and Activities" file about where to stay and family
fun things to do. (Bring your telescope or use the ones at the visitors'
center at McDonald Observatory!)

For flight planning order a WAC Chart CH-23 and the El Paso sectional. The
Albuquerque and San Antonio sectionals will be needed for "straight out" XC.

We can finish your glider rating or renew your CFIG at Marfa this winter, as I
am an examiner. Winter in west Texas is a nice time of year for concentrated
training. We soar year-round. Guest houses available.

We'll show you a good time!
