They never claim they designed it, but they did issue the specs. How could
Packard ever improve a Merlin?




Redesigned it for mass production, for assembly by semi-skilled workers,
not 'watchmakers' and custom fitting that Rolls Royce used.


Packard Merlins apparently also came with a standard toolkit, which always
impressed the ground crews.



Another few "brit" initiations.

1. Mirror Landing System - throw away your bats lads.

2. Angled Flight Decks.

3. Armoured Flight Decks.

4. Steam Catapults.

And

5. Missile Silos.

Think very carefully before you jump in.
