Default TSA and the USA

It seems the AOPA keeps just saying that we agree that little planes are a
security problem, but really, lets figure out a way to comply with the
bogus regulations and rules coming out of DC. This nonsense needs to stop
and these rules need to be removed from the books. The TSA does not have
the mandate they think they do, and the little airplanes do not pose a
significant risk. If every one of you does not write to their
congressman/senator/president, then in fact you also are a part of the
problem.

I agree. We are getting neither the leadership nor the results on this
matter that I have come to expect from AOPA. I am beginning to wonder who
our new AOPA Director thinks he works for; us or the government? We have a
new administration, and AOPA should have plenty of leverage to at least
force the TSA go through the forrmal administrative rulemaking proceeding
process, rather than the ad-hoc "secret" method that they prefer.

There is no emergency justifaction for the TSA to abandan the formal
rulemaking process in this instance. Let's have government in the sunshine!
