CJ7...right?

Not quite. The "CJ-7" was first produced by AMC in 1987.

The War time General Purpose, (G-P) or jeeps were either "MB" built by
Willys-Overland, or "GPW" built by Ford.

The "GPW" was a Ford code; "G"= Government vehicle, "P"= 80" wheel
base, and "W"= Willys. Ford also produced the "GPA" or amphbious
"G-P". The first "CJ" or "Civilian Jeep was produced for civilian use
in late 1945.

Amazed & pleased to learn that CJ actually stands for something that makes sense
and not some mindless letters that their marketing people just pulled out of
their butt.

...ya...I'm not a jeep guy. First car was a worn out 1954 Austin Healey and
second car an almost worn out 57 chevy.

My dad had a couple Austin Healey's way back when, late '50s/early
'60s. Then he upgraded to a '64 Jaguar XKE. I never got to drive
it...
