Default Pocket PC Storage Card Rename Utility

Hi,

Thank you Scott Elhardt for clueing me in on this handy utility. I think
quite a few soaring pilots will find it handy so I'm posting it here and
putting a link on my PDA Comparison and Cambridge Downloads web pages.

HP iPAQ Pocket PC Storage Card Rename Utility
This free utility program can be used to rename the memory card on your iPAQ
Pocket PC to "Storage Card". The original iPAQs used the term "Storage
Card" to describe the memory card. Newer models use terms such as "SD
Card", "CF Card" and many other directory names. The change in "standard"
terminology is a problem for applications written several years ago because
they try to find a "Storage Card' and can't find the SD or CF memory cards.
For example, the Cambridge 300 Utility (I believe) tries to save downloaded
flight log files on the "Storage Card". When it can't find one it saves the
files in the My Documents/Flights directory in the Pocket PC's internal
memory. Many pilots prefer to have the file saved directly to their SD or
CF memory card so they can transfer the flight log to their PC using a
memory card reader. This utility should make that possible. It can rename
the memory card so that the 300 Utility can access the "Storage Card".
