There's a simple solution to this concern: Don't buy Garmin. There are
plenty of other GPS manufacturers out there that would love to have your
business. In fact, may even be considered superior products. In any case,
if you convince enough of your cohorts to stop buying Garmin, they'll be
forced to drop prices to remain competitive and in business.

Oh, and what you described isn't "price fixing".
