Are there any alternatives to the Jeppesen binders? Even their plastic
ones are
kinda pricey. Thanks...
Of course. The Jeppesen binder is the same size as a classic Day-Timer (desk
size), Day-Runner, Franklin, and many other seven ring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binder
systems. The best hole puncher for one of these systems can be found he

Very useful for putting checklists, flight plans, etc., in your binder.
The very cheapest way to go is with a 3-ring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binder, as he
Acco–Wilson Jones® 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Ring Binder, 2" Ring, Black
carried by Office Depot for $6.98. The Jepp plates will fit just fine in
these binders. Hole punchers for these binders are a lot cheaper, too. You
can also save a ton of money just getting Jeppview on CD-ROM and printing
out only those plates that you need on regular paper, punching your own
holes, and putting them in the Acco binder. This is probably a lot cheaper
than using NOS charts, even.
